A Small City with a Big Story

Girona is a beautiful city in northeastern Catalonia with around 100,000 inhabitants — called one of the "ten most overlooked and underrated destinations" by Lonely Planet.

Rich History

Romans called it Gerunda and used it as a vital trade route. By the 12th century, it housed a thriving Jewish community. The medieval Jewish Quarter, El Call, remains one of the best-preserved in Europe.

World-Class Food

Home to El Celler de Can Roca (3 Michelin stars, regularly voted the world's best restaurant), plus countless hidden gems. From escalivada to fresh seafood, the food scene is extraordinary.

Catalan Culture

Catalan — not Spanish — is the dominant language here. "Girona" is the Catalan spelling; "Gerona" the Spanish. This is a fiercely proud region with its own traditions, festivals, and identity.
